Here comes the ladder crew!

Traditionally, the ladder crew is a 1st Grade privilege, but with their small class (and one student with a broken wrist), this time Ms. V.P. asked the Kindergarteners to help her carry the ladder. Here they come!

Now the marquee is ready to be changed.

Hula Hoop game

Everyone joined hands for one of our hula hoop games from Friday. They passed a hula hoop around the circle without letting go. They were encouraged to help and encourage one another, and they did a great job, not to mention all the fun they had with this game and the previous one which was much crazier (sorry - no pictures or video).

Can I just say?

Can I just say how wonderful all your children are doing? Today I looked at alphabet pages after school. This is what I noticed:

*Everyone put their paper in my basket.
*Everyone remembered their name.
*Everyone tried to write uppercase and lowercase Gg, even though it is a hard letter.
*Everyone found the Gg's hidden in the garage.
*Everyone filled in the missing letters.
*No one forgot to do anything.

Hooray!

Science is Super!

Learning through play is the best way!
Today in Bible we learned about the 2nd day of Creation (the sea and sky), so in science we did some experiments to learn a little more about that stuff that fills the sky - air.

Here's what we learned:
*Science is fun
*Science is when we learn about God's world
*Air moves things (like ping pong palls and feathers and kleenex)

Hopefully you can see the video clip to get a glimpse of part of the Science lesson. Otherwise, just enjoy the pictures and imagine it a little (ok, a lot) louder.

Quote

“Did God make heaven? Because if there was no heaven and no earth, then God was nowhere.”

Really? On the third day of school I have to answer this question? I must have a class of real thinkers.

Blogging 'Bout Bb

Today we learned about the letter Bb. At center time children read books, strung beads, played with the bear house, and built with blocks and bricks.

Kindergarten Rules

Here are the rules your children came up with for our class this year:
Do not hit.
Don't push.
Raise your hand.
Don't kick.
Don't treat people how they don't want to be treated.
Push in your chair.
No tackling people.
No wrestling.
No leaving messes.
Don't bite.
No pulling people.
Don't interrupt.
Don't hide from the teacher.
No lying.
